Sansuri Penthouse 1 A-Z Directory

Our A-Z guide helping you navigate your way through our property in Surin Beach, Phuket.

Air conditioning – If the condo has been left unoccupied for some time it could be quite hot when you arrive. Rest assured the air conidtioning should cool things within in an hour.

There’s a remote for each bedroom and the main living area. Once the air is chilled you should be quite comfortable with the temperature left at around 24c – we recommend you keep all doors/windows shut when the aircon is on, and only run the aircon when you’re in the property.

Please note that the aircon is very expensive to run in Thailand! Where possible enjoy open windows and doors and use the fan to keep the air chilled, please turn the main living room unit off at night etc, thank you!

Airport Transfers – At the end of your trip, we recommend you use Grab to return to the airport or ask at the massage shop across the road, they also run a taxi service

Beach – We are in walking distance of two great beaches which you can see the walking paths mapped out at the back of this brochure. Allow 15-17 minutes to get to Surin Beach and 22-25 mins to Bang Tao Beach. Read more about our nearby beaches

Cash – There are several small supermarkets with ATMs along the main road in Surin to get cash out.

Childproofing – The house is relatively safe but as you’ll see outside there are gaps in the glass fencing and potential fall dangers around the pool; please stay vigilant and never leave the little ones unattended outside on the balcony or around the pool.

Clothes Drying – Condo rules do not permit any sort of drying over the glass balconies – please use the drying racks provided or the drying machine in the laundry.

Consumables – There should be plenty of items like toilet paper, kitchen towels and rubbish bags to keep you going for your first few days at least. We only ask if you use anything up to replace it so the next guest has some starter items too.

Curtains and Blinds – We are aware a number of the rolling blinds are in need of repait, don’t panic that you’ll broken them!

Desk & Printer – You are welcome to attach your laptop to the monitor and printer set up in the living room, instuctions are kept in the kitchen drawer. Careful not to leave with the bluetooth connection!

Electricity – The main electricity supply in the property is turned off when no one is home, but you may also find appliances are also unplugged. Please just plug these back in then you’ll be ready to go, the cleaners will unplug anything necessary when you leave.

Electric plugs – All sockets in the house are Asian Type O and can take Type A/B/C plugs. They don’t take Australian or British style plugs so you’ll find several spare converter plugs too in the kitchen drawer – please don’t accidentally take these home with you!

Games and Toys – Help yourself to the board games we have in the living room and there’s a basket of beach toys for younger children as well as footballs and boogie boards kept in the laundry. You’re welcome to leave any floaties etc you’ve purchased at the beach if you no longer need them.

Grab – Highly recommend you get Grab App for your transportation. Like Uber, you simply connect your credit card to an online account and you can pin point this exact location to your destination for a fare estimate. Generally speaking its around 500-600 THB to Patong, 600-700 THB to the airport.

Gym – There is a gym available on the ground floor for free resident use. It does not require booking but you may find it busy as a few residents do boxing training etc in there.

Hospital – If you require urgent medical treatment, the nearest 24 hour emergency hospital is Bangkok Hospital Phuket, 30-40 min drive away. Ambulance number is 1669.

House Keeping – Note that this is a private, self-contained apartment, not a holiday let. There’s no daily housekeeping service. A cleaner is scheduled to come weekly for cleaning the floors etc, and she will take care of the towels and sheets after you leave but will not do your dishes or clothes washing.

Please use the cleaning tools left in the laundry or in the kitchen cupboard for any cleaning as you go.

Insects  – We fortunately do not seem to have any issues with mosquitos this high up, but ants can be an issue; spray can be found in the kitchen. We strongly recommend not leaving dirty dishes out over night as the ants will find them!

Internet – You can access the router in the house “P1” password “P1@sansuri”

Keys – You only need to use the metal key provided by reception; the electronic swab on the front door is disabled. A spare key is kept at all times by front reception in case of an emergency – though you need to double turn the lock on exiting so it shouldn’t be possible to lock yourself out!

Maintenance  – We do not have a maintenance team on call, so do report any issues immediately to Keri (WhatsApp +971 529 869 479) or email sansurip1@gmail.com and we will see if our housekeeping or the building engineer are required to make immediate fixes; note the receptionist is very helpful but she is NOT employed to look after the flat.

Markets – there are no markets in Surin, but nearby Friday Market at Boat Avenue is popular, as is the Sunday Market in Phuket Town, both worth getting in a Grab for a look.

Massage – Just across the road at Hidden Retreat Massage you can have a traditional Thai massage, oil massage or anything you like! There are a few options also on the main road and at Surin Beach.

Nespresso Machine – Please help yourself  to a cuppa. The instruction manual is in the kitchen draw. Coffee capsules are a little difficult to get hold of, try Villa Market in Boat Avenue, Laguna.

Noise – Like any shared apartment block, please be mindful of the neighbours and keep the noise level down late evenings. Quiet hours are 11pm to 7am.

Oven – Apologies, there is currently a problem with the timer switch to turn the oven on – it can be done by removing the nob and using pliers if you are very keen to use the oven still!

Outdoor furniture – Items may have been moved inside by the cleaners for protection from the weather but feel free to bring them outside for your use and enjoymnet during your stay. Sorry there are no cushions for the chairs or loungers at this stage.

Parking – We have access to one parking spot in the basement should you be hiring a car or have a visitor. Any spot without a cone on it can be used. Entry to the gate is “6001 OK, 6001 OK” – otherwise a quick horn beep and security/reception can come out and assist.

Patong – Party city Patong is around 20 minutes south by Grab/taxi. A good spot to do your market shopping and more dining out choices.

Pharmacy – Your nearest phamacy is just a 5 minute walk back to the main road. We also have many basic over the counter medicines in the master bathroom you can help yourself to.

Phuket Town – About 40 minutes away – take a Grab and go explore the Old City.

Pool Cleaner – The pool cleaner will come into the property twice a week. If you are not home, he has access via reception to the key and will let himself in.

Pool – Please make use of both the private rooftop pool and the communal pool (Level 1).

Power outages – Can occur regularly, often it may be just something has tripped within the condo, you can check this in the electrics box in the laundry.

Recycling  – Sorry, there are no separate recycle bins for the building – everything goes in one trash bin and is apparently sorted later.

Registration – Please note, if your passport copies weren’t already taken on arrival, reception needs to report all guests coming in and out to immigration. Your passports will be needed for this or a copy sent to reception.sansuri@gmail.com

Restaurants – If you don’t feel like self-catering, there are 3 good Thai restaurants within easy walking distance – Butterfly, Flavour and Tok Restaurant.

Just a 6-minute walk you’ll find plenty more dining options on the main road and especially along Surin Beach during the day. A longer walk to Bang Tao beach you’ll find an even wider range of dining choices in the small village nearby.

Rice Cooker – Found in the kitchen cupboards. You may need Google Translate but easy to use – we recommend rinsing your rice in clean water.

Rubbish – There are communal rubbish bins located on the ground floor, to the right when you come out of the lifts. Rubbish and recycling all go in the same bins. Large items that do not fit can be left behind the bins.

Safe – Sorry, we currently do not have a working safe. We suggest just tucking anything valuable away if you are here on a housekeeping/pool cleaner day.

Sand – Try as we might, you’re staying at the beach and we know sand get everywhere! We do ask if you could rinse feet etc in the shower by the pool on level 1 before coming up to minimise the mess.

Security Camera – There is a small “Eufy Security” camera kept inside (its resting against the speaker near the front door). For your privacy do turn this over or cover it up during your stay, but we ask you to check that its back on/uncovered when you leave.

Shopping Bags – The island is trying hard to go plastic free, so do make use of the shopping bags and beach bags we have in the laundry during your stay.

Smoking – Strictly no smoking inside the condo, you may smoke on the balcony. An ashtray can be found in the kitchen.

Speaker – There’s a waterproof JBL speaker that can be used out by the pool, connect with Bluetooth, kept in the kitchen drawers.

Supermarket – We have two nearby convenience stores, Lotus Fresh and 7-11. Both you can grab the basics but not much more.  You can set up a Lotus online delivery, or try Villa Market in Boat Avenue (10 minutes away by Grab), where you’ll find a wide selection of western brands. You can also order same day deliveries with Villa Market online.

Television – we have an app on the TV “IPTV Smarters Prp” from which you can access live TV, movies and series (be mindful live TV may slow the internet for other devices). You are welcome to connect your own Netflix accounts etc and access YouTube.

Torch – The street outside is usually well lit for evening walks home but should you have a blackout or want to walk safely at night, there’s a torch in the kitchen drawer

Towels – We have both grey towels for showering and colourful towels for use at the pool or beach. Do make use of the washer and dryer if you need to during your stay – used towels will be taken care of by our housekeeping only at the end of your stay.

Umbrellas –There are a couple of umbrellas kept in the lanudry should you need them, any time from around May to November, this is most likely!

Water – The tap water in Phuket is not considered safe to drink, accordingly we reocmmend you drink bottled water only. Help yourselves to the water cooler (NB the blue switch on the back must be turned on for chilled water). Ice cubes in the freezer should only be made using bottled water.

Please do not throw out the large blue water bottles! Store them in a cupboard and we’ll arrange replacements.
